photomasking

PHOTOMASKING

A photomask is a specialized light-sensitive stencil film used in sandcarving to transfer detailed images, photographs, and intricate lettering onto memorial stone, such as granite. It serves as a protective layer during the sandblasting process, allowing craftsmen to achieve precise, deep etching with fine detail, including halftones and custom designs.
